Hezbollah official: Iran's President supporting Lebanese resistance movement

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Tuesday that the government of President Hassan Rouhani supports the Lebanese resistance movement.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Sheikh Qassem said Riyadh meeting is aimed at looting more money from Arabs.

During the interview, he reviewed various issues such as Iran’s presidential elections, Riyadh meeting and prospects of Hezbollah presence in Syria.

Regarding Iran’s presidential elections, Sheikh Qassem said Hezbollah never differentiates between presidential candidates as all governments, including the government of President Rouhani backs Hezbollah and Lebanese resistance.

The recent meeting between US president and Saudi king had no result except stealing more money from the pockets of Arab countries during which over hundreds of billions of contracts were signed between the US and Saudi Arabia, he added.

Hezbollah is used to pressure, sanctions and war and has made itself well prepared for all scenarios, Sheikh Qassem said.

There is no room for any military confrontation in the region and the aim of the US is to set more limits on advances of the Syrian army and has no plan to enter a full-scale war in the region, he said.

Hezbollah spares no efforts to help maintain security and sovereignty of Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem said while strongly condemning those calling for disarmament of Lebanese Hezbollah serves interest of Zionist regime.

On probable slap of economic sanctions by the US congress against Hezbollah, he said Hezbollah will exercise patience and will make decision based on the ongoing developments.

Hezbollah will to continue its presence in Syria and after liberating all lands from the terrorists, Hezbollah has no plan to stay there as this is not among its responsibilities, Sheikh Qassem said.
